New Photos for August

After allowing myself to become stagnate for a while in the creative realm, I pushed forward the other day, picked up my camera and went out to do a few photos with a friend of mine, Ellen. I am pretty pleased with them, though I must admit I felt a bit "off my game" sort a speak, and I hope to work on some more photo's over the course of the next 2 months to get myself back in the swing of things. It's strange... this summer has been like a winter for me artistic wise. I guess we all hit slow months though from time to time.

In other news, I am looking into Photography courses at UWM. I think I would enjoy that very much. :)

Here are some shots from the shoot the other day:

+NEW PHOTOS+

I recently worked with Nicole Snow from Baraboo. I am going to only post a few as a preview, but you can view more of the set on my Deviant Art page. :)

I am very excited to work with another model, also named Nicole, in 2 weeks. She is going to be my first in a series I am doing that is carnival themed for Gothic Beauty Magazine. I am really exctited about this series and think it will be a lot of fun, filled with color & creepyness! ;p

Cult Classic

Being inspired by some classic horror films recently, I took it upon myself to do a little "classic horror photography" this weekend with model Lilith Ave Satanas.
She was great for this kind of thing, considering she also is into cult horror movies and had very similar interests to mine. We both were excited to do my tribute to Lizzie Borden photo and getting to this part of the shoot was the most fun for the both of us.

I could not have been more pleased with the shoot and how much fun we had working together! I hope to work with her again next time she is in town or I find myself in good ol' Chitown! ;p

GLAMSHION '09

I had the most wonderful experience this previous Sunday, I was one of the very few photographer's chosen to be apart of T H Taylor's Glam -shion workshop here in Milwaukee! If you are not familiar with T H Taylor, shame on you! hehehe.. he is a world renowned fashion photographer that has been shooting for many many years. [http://www.modelmayhem.com/45851]

I was truly honored to be apart of his workshop and even more honored in his belief in me. After the workshop came to a close [12 hours of fun!] he pulled me aside and told me that he would like for me to be his apprentice!!! I was shocked, but also enthralled by the offer
!

I learned so much from the experience, not just from Taylor, but from the other majorly talented photographers [some from NY, LA & Germany] that were there and models as well [Jemme from GQ, Jessie/Kelly from Gods Girls & Deviant Nation to name a few]. I was SO nervous going into the workshop as a hack, but once I was there I was honestly among friends and never felt so welcomed among my peers.

I walked away from the event a new, more confident person and better experienced photographer. I made some like minded friends, wonderful memories and have a whole new outlook on my future. :)
I can't wait to start this apprenticeship and am so excited to
learn more about something I just LOVE to do! I feel very fortunate to be taught by such a credited photographer that I now call a friend. <3
